This course contains an overview of the different ways you can customize the look and feel of a Skilljar training domain.
Welcome to the Skilljar Developer Training pilot! This course will guide you through an overview of the many different ways to customize the look and feel of a Skilljar domain using CSS and Javascript. By the end of this course, you'll gain a cohesive understanding of the customization options at your fingertips. From there, you'll be ready to start writing your own customizations or to use the HTML Templates and Code Snippets in the Walkthrough Developer Center.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
We will start with a primer on the overall site structure of a Skilljar training domain, since it is useful to understand the makeup of the "walls of the house" before you dive into making any changes to them. We will also showcase how to use the native Developer Tools that any modern web browser supports to prototype and test styling changes.
From there, we will give an overview of the different sections within the "Theming" tab in the Skilljar Admin Dashboard and how you can use them to apply global customizations to your domain. We will also explain how to apply targeted customizations that overwrite was it set globally to specific objects like Pages and Courses.
To close up shop, we will take a look at a few advanced developer tools at your disposal in Skilljar and cover off on some overall customization best practices.
